Crash-tested dog car harness
A harness independently crash-tested to actually restrain a dog in a wreck, not just clip them in. The one piece of car gear we won't cut corners on.
Car seatbelt clip attachment
Tethers a harness to the seatbelt buckle so a dog can sit or lie down but can't roam the car or bolt out an open door.
Backseat hammock/cover
Protects the back seat and keeps a dog from tumbling into the footwell. Waterproof for muddy paws and post-swim dogs.
GPS pet tracker
Peace of mind for the dog who might bolt, a reactive dog spooked off leash or an escape artist. Find them fast instead of driving the neighborhood.
Silicone ID tag (silent, no jingle)
A silent ID tag with no jingle, one less sound to bother a noise-sensitive dog and one less thing rattling all day.
Stainless engraved ID tag
A durable engraved tag with your number on it, the fastest way a lost dog gets home. Pair it with a microchip as backup.
Personalized embroidered ID collar
Your phone number stitched into the collar, so the ID is on your dog even if a tag falls off.
Dog first aid kit
Tick remover, a slip lead, and the basics for a scrape or a cut. Keep one in the car and one at home.
Infrared pavement thermometer
Point it at the sidewalk before a summer walk. Past about 125°F, pavement can burn paws. Ten seconds that saves a vet trip.
Digital pet thermometer
Ease off active cooling once they are back around 103. That instruction is in every heat guide including ours, and it is useless without a way to read the number. Flexible tip, waterproof, and it reads in seconds, which is as long as anyone gets.
Car window sun shade
Keeps the back seat out of direct sun on Houston drives. The mesh style lets you crack the window and still keep bugs out.
Non-slip stair treads and runners
Traction on the surfaces where dogs actually get hurt. A single slip on stairs or a wood floor can undo weeks of recovery, and an older dog who has slipped once often stops using the stairs at all.
Waterproof document pouch
Keeps vaccination records and handling notes dry in a go-bag. Paper and water is the obvious failure when you're packing during a flood, and it is worth one pouch to solve.
Dog life jacket
Buy the one with a handle. Flotation is half of it; the handle is how you actually get a dog out of water, off a boat, or over a fence line in a flood. Sized by weight, not by breed. Houston is a flood city and swimming is one of the few real workouts a sore or heavy dog can do, so this earns its place twice.
Support and lift harness
A sling under the belly or hindquarters so you can take some of a dog's weight helping them rise, manage stairs, or get into a car. For arthritis, a weak back end, or recovery. Measure before buying. A plain belly sling gets in the way on a male dog, so check the cut. And if a dog is post-op, ask the vet which style suits the surgery before you use one.
Folding car ramp
Jumping down out of a car is the hard part, not jumping up: the landing puts the whole dog through the front legs and shoulders. A ramp takes that out of the day entirely. Worth teaching on the ground first, flat and low, before it is ever propped against a bumper.
